Elizabeth Ann Mayes, age 59, passed away, Saturday July 29, 2023, as the result of an automobile accident. She was born on October 26, 1963, in Lamar, Colorado, the daughter of John Perry and Veta Lorene Wilcox Hostetler.


She was united in marriage to Dennis N. Mayes. He died in the accident as well. She enjoyed gardening and all different types of animals. She loved her family especially her eight grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Alan Hostetler. Elizabeth is survived by three sons, Jason Mayes (Savannah), Phillip Mayes (Christa), and Christopher Mayes; two daughters, Nicole Elliott (Steve) and Stephanie Rueda; two brothers, Charles Hawkins, and John Hostetler; and eight grandchildren.


A service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Paws & Claws, 8 N. Judson, Fort Scott, Kansas 66701. Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
