MOUND CITY – Linn County Commissioners learned from Planning and Zoning Director Darin Wilson that the Nov. 14 planning board public forum on the solar farm Article 14 regulations will be held at the county annex building even though the attendance capacity is 60 people. It will be held at 6 p.m.

Wilson said that he had looked into the 4-H building at the fairgrounds with Information Technology (IT) Director Chris Martin but Martin had determined that if video was used at the meeting it would be grainy and unclear and there would not be microphones so the audio could not be heard.

Technology to use Power Point or other videos was not available there either.

Wilson said that there were still openings on the meeting agenda for people who wanted to speak about solar farms.

Commission Chair Danny McCullough asked Wilson about the plan for having people speak at the meeting.

Wilson said that the planning board had settled on allowing 10 minutes for each speaker, with five minutes of that time set for the speaker, and five minutes of that time set for the planning board to ask questions. At present, the planning board has set 90 minutes for presentations.

Wilson said that he would be in contact with Planning Commission Chair Richard Morrell to verify the building location and any other changes.

People wanting to speak should contact the planning and zoning office at 913-795-2422.

Wilson asked that any information or hand-outs be turned into him by Monday, Nov. 6, so that he can get them out to planning board members. He also requested that any information that speakers want put on video be turned in by Nov. 6 so that it can be set up to be streamed.
