Four Pleasanton High School basketball players were named for Three Rivers League all-league honors for the 2023 season earlier this month.

Junior Tony Gillespie was named to the first team men’s all-league.

With the key plays of Gillespie, the Blu-Jays posted 11 wins and nine losses. The men fell in the first round of the substate match-up against Central Heights.

Lady Blu-Jay Eryn Sabine received first-team honors in the all-league selections.

A surprising omission for the all-team list was senior Dale Gillespie. Dale set a school record by scoring 43 points in a single game and joined the 1,000 Points Club in February after surpassing that mark in his high school career.

Junior Eryn Sabine was also an easy pick for the girls first team all-league. Fellow junior Leah Myrick was named to the all-league second team, and Landry George received an honorable mention.

The three provided most of the offense for the Lady Blu-Jays, and with the help of their teammates, the women racked up 15 wins and five losses.

Their record was good enough for a second seed in the substate tournament, however they lost in the first round in a defensive battle against Erie.

Senior Landry George received all-league honorable mention for her play during the season.
