Geri Sue Whitney, known affectionately as Sue, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, in her home. Born on December 7, 1939, she was the eldest daughter of Douglas Ward and Charlotte A. Hagadorn.

Sue spent her formative years in Osawatomie, where she attended local schools and proudly graduated with the Osawatomie High School class of 1957.

In the early 1960s, Sue married Gene Ray Whitney. This marriage brought her much happiness and was blessed with the birth of their son, Douglas. As a dedicated homemaker, Sue played a crucial role in fostering a warm and loving environment for her family. In addition to her responsibilities at home, she helped Gene in the operation of Whitney Plumbing & Heating.

Sue is lovingly remembered by her husband, Gene, who remains at their home, and their son, Doug Whitney, of Osawatomie, Kansas. She is also survived by her cherished sister, Connie Allen, of Omaha, Nebraska.

Sue's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, dedication, and spirit will surely be missed by family and friends alike.

There are no services planned at this time.
