Helen Maxine Wright, age 86, formerly of Blue Mound, Kansas, passed away at her home in Abbyville, Kansas, on Thursday, June 19, 2025. She was born the only daughter of Charles E. and Thelma Gertrude (Gross) Loy on May 28, 1939, in Kansas City, Missouri. She married Lee Wright on December 30, 1978, he preceded her in death in 2023.


Helen worked as a CNA in the nursing field throughout her career. She loved the color green and enjoyed crocheting and watching hummingbirds.


She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a granddaughter. Helen is survived by six children, Alan Wright, Cristina Fields, Theresa Croy, Lynn Tucker, Jeff Marquis and Kellie Applegate; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.


Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Community of Christ Church in Mapleton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Scott National Cemetery.
