Dozens of well-wishers converged on the Linn County Historical Society Museum in Pleasanton on Saturday, April 22, to honor retiring society president Ola May Earnest, left. Theresa Miller, right, has been chosen as the new president. Earnest, who recently turned 89, began her volunteer career with the library in 1976, two years after the museum opened. She has been a driving force in the preservation of the county's history ever since. Earnest will continue to volunteer working in the museum's newly named "Ola May Earnest Historical and Genealogical Research Library" in the museum. (Roger Sims/Linn County Journal)
