Press release

Rees Chapman, a member of the Kansas State Grange and resident of Pleasanton, and Cierra Lindsey, a member of Kansas State Grange and resident of Mound City, have been awarded the Claude and Ina Brey Memorial Scholarship for the 2025–2026 academic year. Both Chapman and Lindsey are members of Richland Grange No. 1998.

Both women plan to attend Kansas State University this fall, and both plan to major in agricultural education.

The scholarship is awarded to Grange members who have demonstrated strong academic performance, involvement in the Grange and their local community, and a commitment to leadership and service. Additional consideration is given to students pursuing degrees in agricultural fields.

The Claude and Ina Brey Memorial Scholarship is one of several educational opportunities provided by the Kansas State Grange to support young people pursuing higher education. Scholarship funds may be used toward tuition, books, or other educational expenses.

Both students will be honored during the 154th Annual Kansas State Grange Convention, scheduled for September 26–28, 2025, in Topeka, Kansas.

The Kansas State Grange is a nonpartisan, community-based organization dedicated to strengthening rural communities through advocacy, service, leadership development, and education. Established in 1873, the Grange remains a vital part of Kansas life today. Learn more at www.kansasgrange.org.
