La Cygne Christian Church to sponsor Missions Weekend

LA CYGNE – The La Cygne Christian Church is sponsoring events that focus on the work of missions supported by the church on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14 – 15.


The Missions Banquet will be served on Saturday, Sept. 14, and will include dishes from countries where the missionaries sponsored by the church has been serving. Seating for the feast starts at 5:30 p.m. and the banquet begins at 6 p.m. in the church at 406 N. Broadway in La Cygne.

Some of the missionaries will be available to visit with guests and share their experiences from the field.


The buffet will include chicken tikka masala from India; Nyama, an African stew, jerk chicken from Jamaica, and pulled pork, a U.S. standard.


Sunday morning services at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. will also focus on missions with missionaries from Jamaica sharing about their experiences. After the morning service, attendees will be able to ask missionaries questions while enjoying pizza.
