La Cygne council approves food truck ordinance

LA CYGNE – The La Cygne City Council on Wednesday, March 18, approved an ordinance regulating the operation of food trucks inside city limits. A copy of the unsigned final draft of the ordinance is included below.
Some of the key requirements for food trucks include:
Operating time limits are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. unless there is a special event.
The vehicles must be self-contained and have cold and hot running water.
Applicants must provide proof of liability insurance of at least $500,000.
Permits can be issued on a day-to-day basis or monthly.
Applications will be refused if applicant has commited violations of state, federal or local health codes in the last five years.
Vendors cannot have tables and chairs outside their vehicles.
Vendors must have permission of property owner to use that property.
