Lawrence Eugene Wunderly, age 79, Mound City, Kansas, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023.  He was born on October 15, 1944, in Fort Scott, Kansas the son of Fred and Julia Brennan Wunderly.  


He graduated from Fort Scott High School.  He then attended Pittsburg State University obtaining a Master's Degree in Mathematics.  He served in the National Guard.


Lawrence was united in marriage to Linda Clayton on June 12, 1971.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  He enjoyed his family, hunting, farming, and having a good visit with just about anybody.  


He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Pat Cook.  Lawrence is survived by his wife Linda; three sons, Len Wunderly, Drew Wunderly and wife Jennifer, and Ryan Wunderly and wife Tara; a sister, Barbara Schmidt; five brothers, Mike Wunderly, Joe Wunderly and wife Marsha, Ron Wunderly and wife Kathy, Dan Wunderly and wife Stephanie, and Don Wunderly and wife Peggy; and five grandchildren, Clare, Kade, Eleanor, Hayden and Jace.    


Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mound City.  Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel.  Private burial will take place in the Dayton Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Sacred Heart Church or St Jude Children's Hospital.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
