Linn County Sheriff's report for week ending Aug. 17

MOUND CITY – The Linn County’s Sheriff’s report for Monday, Aug. 19, showed that the current numbers for the week ending August 17 were:


• Total prisoners at the Justice Center the past week were 72. Fourteen prisoners were released the past week.

• Total prisoners in were 71.

• One prisoner was sent to another facility. 

• Fifty-two prisoners were from other facilities (28 U.S. Marshals Service/24 Wyandotte County Sheriff) ($4,084/day)

• There were 4,593 jail contacts.                                                        

• Total calls for service were 504. 

• Total civil service papers served were 17.

• There were two vehicle identification number (VIN) inspections.

• Thirteen new cases (criminal, child in need of care, etc.) were opened.

• Six cases were closed.

• There were two vehicle crashes.

• There were 47 School Resource Officer activities.

• There were 116 bailiff contacts resulting in 45 calls for service. 

• Deputies responded to six calls of livestock out.
