PLEASANTON – Anthony Ohmes, a 63-year-old Pleasanton man, was formally charged with alleged sexual exploitation of a child, unlawful possession of visual depiction of a child 12 to 16 years old, and possession of narcotics on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
Officers with the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and Pleasanton Police Department served a search warrant on a residence on 15th Street in Pleasanton that morning and took Ohmes into custody.
In a release on Tuesday, Linn County Sheriff Kevin Friend said that the warrant was issued following a lengthy investigation that indicated that the man was allegedly involved in a child pornography scheme.

“The investigation into the matter has been ongoing for the past few months, and enough cause was established to obtain the warrant,” the sheriff said in the release. “During the search of the home suspected narcotics were found within. A secondary warrant was sought for the seizure of the suspected narcotics.”
As of Friday morning, Feb. 16, Ohmes was still being held in custody on a $50,000 bond.
“This case was developed through cooperation with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program (ICAC),” Friend said. “Linn County Sheriff’s detectives are an integral part of this program and serve as affiliates and task force members of the program. These relationships make cases like this possible.”
In an earlier version of this story, the charges and the name of the man being charged were not available.
