Marion Earl Sylva, age 81 of Parker, KS, died Saturday June 1, 2024, at Olathe Hospice House. 

Marion was born January 13, 1943, in Kansas City, KS. He was the second of four children born to Earnest and Nora Ilene (Zeller) Sylva. He attended and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1962. 


In 1963, Marion and Linda Summers were united in marriage. To this union came two sons, Jay and Brad. Marion and Linda lived in Kansas City, KS, until 1985 when they moved to Parker, Kansas, and built their home together from the ground up.


Marion worked at Kansas City, Kansas, school district as a mechanic and then for the City of Kansas City as the lead mechanic. The family then moved to Linn County where he started working for the Prairie View School District as a custodian. 


In his free time, Marion enjoyed tinkering with tractors and cars. 


He was preceded in death by his wife Linda in 2023, his parents, and two brothers Sonny and Earnest Sylva.


Survivors include his sons, Jay (Belinda) Sylva and Brad (Beverly) Sylva; brother, Jim Sylva; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. 


A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 06, 2024 at the Parker Cemetery, County Road 1077 and 2000 Road, Parker, KS 66072. For more information, https://www.eddybirchard.com/obituary.
