Martha L. (Farris) Houseman

Martha L. Houseman, 70, of Parker, Kansas passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026 at her home. 


She was born March 17, 1955 in Garnett, Kansas, the daughter of Neal C. Farris and Elsie (Smith) Farris.  She graduated from the Prairie View High School in La Cygne, Kansas.

She was united in marriage to Steven J. Houseman in Fontana, Kansas, in 1986.


Martha was an Assembler for Profit Caps Hat Manufacturing in Paola, Kansas for many years.

She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and loved animals.


Mrs. Houseman was preceded in death by her parents, Neal and Elsie Farris.

Surviving family includes her husband, Steven of the home; two sons, Caleb Houseman of Lawrence, Kansas, and Jay Houseman of Ottawa, Kansas; a step-son, Robert Houseman of Denver, Colorado; a step-daughter, Christine Rawson of Denver, Colorado; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


A Celebration of Martha’s Life will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Cadmus Grange Hall, W. 2200th Road, Fontana, KS 66026.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Prairie Paws Animal Shelter and sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa, Kansas 66067. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.lamb-roberts.com.
