Motorcyclist injured in collision with UTV in Linn Valley

LINN VALLEY - A 75-year-old Linn Valley man sustained suspected serious injuries in an accident involving a motorcycle and an utility task vehicle (UTV) on Saturday, June 21.


According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash report, a 2004 Harley Davidson driven by Dennis D. Bland was traveling northbound on Linn Valley Boulevard just before 10 p.m. when the motorcycle crossed the center of the roadway and struck a 2024 Polaris UTV driven southbound on Linn Valley Boulevard by 22-year-old Jenna R. Bethune of Broken Arrow, Okla.


Bland was transported by ambulance to the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. Bland was reportedly not wearing a helmet when the accident occurred.


Neither Bethune or her passengers, Stephanie Jessen and Wayne Scott, appeared to be injured. None of the occupants of the UTV were wearing a safety restraint.
