Journal staff report

The Parker Area Ladies Society (PALS), the city of Parker and community volunteers are coming together again this year to sponsor a Christmas celebration at the Parker Elementary School on Saturday, Dec. 13.

The event begins at 5 p.m. with a chicken and noodle dinner (free-will donation) followed by a drawing for gifts for all ages and a visit from Santa.

The Christmas parade, a staple of the event the past couple of years, will not happen this year, according to PALS member Kari Brandt. While a few area businesses and organizations had supported the afternoon parade, it didn’t seem to gain much support across the Parker community.
