In a ceremony ending with a lighting of candles, nine Pleasanton High School students became the newest inductees into the school’s National Honor Society (NHS).

The ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 7, began with a welcome by NHS sponsor Robert Nolan followed by a call to order by Shiloh Skipper, one of the second-year seniors that were inducted into the chapter last year.

Senior Holley Coffman gave a brief history of NHS followed by discussion of the four “pillars” of NHS. Rees Chapman told initiates about leadership, Hayden Johnson discussed scholarship, Skipper talked about service and Patience Meik told them about character.
