Richard Paul Henderson, age 74, of Blue Mound, Kansas, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025. He was born on July 26, 1950, in Fort Scott, Kansas the son of Charles and Lidea Morris Henderson.


After graduating high school, Rich joined the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Gail Martin. To this union, a daughter Micheal was born. Rich owned and operated Luna's Feedlot Cafe in Blue Mound.


Rich loved old cars and helped start a car show that is held annually in Blue Mound. He was all about helping Blue Mound and the people of the town. He was a member of the American Legion.


Rich is survived by his daughter, Micheal Johnson and husband Nick, and a granddaughter, Kaylom Henderson-Heitz and Dustin.


Funeral service will be held 11 a,m. Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Blue Mound Bible Church. Visitation will be held from 10 am to service time at the church. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Fulton, Kansas. To further honor Rich, a gathering will be held later Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Empress Event Center, 7 N. Main St, Fort Scott, Kansas. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Legion or Blue Moon Youth Center. Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
