La Cygne, Kansas

Richard I. Marsh, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and retired Navy veteran, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion. Richard served honorably during the Vietnam era, embodying the valor and dedication that defined his life. A fierce defender of his family, he was a steadfast pillar of support to all who knew him.

Richard had a profound love for nature, often spending his days fishing and hunting in the great outdoors. He was a true jokester at heart, always ready with a smile and a witty remark to brighten someone's day. His dogs, Jesse and Prince, were his loyal companions, sharing in his adventures and joy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca; his sister, Carlyn Ahrens (Doug); and his four daughters, Trudi Ratty (Rick) of La Cygne, Lelia Rule of South Carolina, Tonia McKinney (David) of La Cygne, and Tiffani Griggs (Bert). Richard will be deeply missed by his 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who cherished his warmth, humor, and unwavering love.

Richard’s spirit of adventure and joy for life will forever be remembered in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Memorial gathering will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the La Cygne Public Library in the swan room.  The family suggests memorial contributions to Tunnel to Towers.
