Treasurer's report: County interest earnings up this year

MOUND CITY – On Monday, Nov. 18, Linn County Commissioners Jim Johnson and Jason Hightower reviewed and approved the Linn County Treasurer’s third quarter report. Commission Chair Danny McCullough was absent from the meeting.

The report, which included the quarterly interest report, delinquent tax report, and year-end tax settlement and reconciliation, was not read to the public.


The written report showed that:

• 2024 year-to-date interest for the third quarter is just over $730,911.93, up from the 2023 third-quarter year-to-date interest which was $206,555.87.


• Delinquent Real Estate taxes as of Oct. 31 are $1,269,873.72.


• Delinquent Personal Property taxes as of Oct. 31 are $42,165.07.
