LA CYGNE – Anne Parelkar, a declared candidate for the U.S. Senate, will host a community roundtable discussion on Friday, Jan. 30, at the La Cygne Library. The discussion is open to the public and area residents and community leaders have been invited to participate.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to noon.

Parelkar, an Overland Park-based attorney, said she is visiting Linn County to hear directly from residents about the issues facing rural Kansans. The event will focus on economic opportunity, healthcare, corruption in politics, and how Washington can better serve small towns and working families.

She is one of five Democratic candidates who hope to unseat Republican Sen. Roger Marshall in November's election. Other candidates include Christy Davis, Sandy Spidel Neumann, Michael Soetaert and Chase LaPorte.
