BLUE MOUND – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) on Tuesday, Nov. 7, lifted a boil-water advisory that was issued on Thursday, Nov. 2.
It was the second time in less than two weeks that a waterline break caused KDHE to issue a boil-water advisory. The first advisory went into effect on Friday, Oct. 27.
In both instances, KDHE officials issued the advisory because of a line break resulting in a loss of pressure in the distribution system. Failure to maintain adequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination, according to KDHE officials.
