A group of area veterans along with guardians and sponsors from Prairie View and, for the first time this year, Jayhawk-Linn high schools traveled to Washington, D.C., with the Honor Flight program. Leaving in the early hours on Wednesday, June 3, and returning late Thursday, June 4, the group had two non-stop days of touring the memorials, and attending ceremonies and events. On their arrival at Kansas City International Airport on Thursday, they were greeted with a crowd of people who welcomed their return.
