Jayhawk-Linn High School juniors and seniors and their dates converged on the Linn County Fairgrounds on Saturday for an evening of dancing and fun.

Despite temperatures in the mid-40s and a gusty northernly breeze, the walk-in went off as planned with parents, siblings, grandparents and friends huddled in coats to watch prom-goers arrive in style.

The gentlemen didn't seem to mind wearing jackets to ward off the cold. But the ladies, not wanting to let the end-of-the-school-year dance strike a sour fashion note, for the most part opted not to cover bare shoulders or cramp their style as their prom gowns delighted the crowd of onlookers.
