Mound City

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Dollie JoAnn (Harding) Clark, passed away at her home in Mound City, Kansas, on Monday, August 28, 2023. JoAnn was 83 years old. Jo was born in Kosse, Texas, on September 28, 1939, to parents Althie Lucille (Absher) and Ethel Pike Harding. She was married in 1957 to Victor G. Clark in Waco, Texas. After living in Waco and the Shawnee, Kansas area, Jo and Vic moved to Mound City in 1970.

Jo is preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Logan David Clark; her parents; five of her siblings, Jack, Jim, Gary, Rita, and Marcus; and her dear friend Linda Brownback.

She is remembered with great love by her husband, Victor; her children and their spouses, David & Pam Clark, Sherry & Van Richardson, Randy & Kelly Clark, Michelle Clark & Brad Stephenson, Carlos Gutierrez & Sarai Justes; grandchildren Brandon Clark, Megan Miller, Nicolas Clark, Erin Holzhauer, Colby Willard, Alex Clark, Allie Stephenson, Devon Conner, Tucker Stephenson, Austin Richardson, and Lola Gutierrez; great-grandchildren Brody, Veia, Jack, Stratton, Hudsyn, Averie, Brya, Sage, Cecilia, Landen, James, and Arthur; and her loyal companion Duke. Jo also leaves her sister Laverne and brother Rick, brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.


A private family service will be held. An informal public gathering to celebrate Jo's life will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Mound City Christian Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Concern Inc. Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
