Linn Valley police arrest second man in sexual assault case

LINN VALLEY – The Linn Valley Police Department has announced the arrest of two Linn Valley men following allegations sexual assault of a child.
Officers took Colin Wilson, 21, into custody on Saturday, June 13, for alleged aggravated indecent liberties with a child, rape of a child younger than 14 by an offender 18 or older, and aggravated criminal sodomy.
He is being held on a $750,000 bond in the Linn County jail, according to Linn Valley Police.
In what is being describe as an ongoing investigation involving allegations of sexual offenses against juveniles, the Linn Valley Police Department also arrested Hunter Yates, 19, on Wednesday, June 17.
Charges against Yates allege that, as a offender older than 18, he attempted to rape an adolescent younger than 14 and attempted to kidnap an individual in flight or during the commission of a crime.
He is also being held on a $750,000 bond according to Linn Valley Police.
Officials said that the investigation remains active and that further information could be released. They also remind the public that suspects are presumed to be innocent until they are proven guilty in court.
