The Pleasanton/Jayhawk Linn Trapshooting Team competed in the 2026 Kansas Clay Target League State Tournament on Sunday, June 21, at the Kansas Trapshooting Association facility north of Wichita.
Our top five shooters combined for a team score of 460/500:
• Haelie Wallace — 94
• Ryker Carpenter — 93
• Clay Nichols — 92
• Garrett Conley — 91
• Della Rhodes — 90
We were represented by 25 athletes at the state tournament, including 13 varsity shooters, eight junior varsity shooters, and four novice shooters. (Classifications are based on regular season averages.)
At the end of the competition, both the junior varsity (with 399 points) and the varsity teams (with 460 points) were rated 21st. Forty-one schools participated in the class 2A tournament.
Congratulations to our individual finishers:
• Haelie Wallace — 7th Varsity Female
• Della Rhodes — 18th Varsity Female
• Jude Wade — 22nd Varsity Female
• Ren Wade — 12th Junior Varsity Female
• Blake Lawson — 21st Novice Male
Haelie Wallace also recorded a perfect 25 during competition.
We had several shooters finish at or above their season averages, with many achieving personal bests on individual subevents. The level of competition continues to grow each year, and every target matters at the state level.
Other competitors on the Pleasanton/Jayhawk roster included Hudson Baldwin, Lincoln Baldwin, Case Bowman, Aron Coleman, Rayse Dean, Ruby Dennis, Eric Freeman, Neila Haynes, Tanner Holt, Max Lawson, Caden Nickelson, Theryn Ross, Janessa Scott, Caleb Swearingen, Josie Wade, Addison Wadel, and Aaydyn Wood.
The coaches are extremely proud of how this team competed and represented our schools.
Thank you to all of our athletes, families, and supporters for another great season.
We look forward to competing at the National Tournament in July!
