Pleasanton teen fatally injured in golf cart accident

ROCKY MOUNT, MO. – An 18-year-old Pleasanton woman died on June 21 of injuries suffered in a golf cart accident on June 20 in Morgan County, Mo.


According to the Missouri Highway Patrol crash report, Kristina Young was riding in a golf cart driven by 19-year-old Hayden Riggs of Neosho, Mo. The cart was being driven downhill just after noon on Main Street south of Rocky Mount, Mo., when Riggs steered to the left, causing Young to fall out of the cart.


Young was not wearing a seatbelt or other restraining device, according to the report. Riggs was not injured.


The report listed her injuries as serious, and she was airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia, Mo., where she died the following day.


According to one report, Young was serving as a lifeguard at a camp for children.

Young was the daughter of Mathew and Robyn Young, who are pastors at the Faith Chapel Assembly of God in Pleasanton.
