This Friday, the Prairie View Educational Foundation will be sponsoring its second “FUNDrive” from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Clothing and other items in plastic bags can be dropped off at the Prairie View Vo-Ag shop before the football game.

The goal is to collect about 125 large trash bags of clothes and household textiles weighing about 20 pounds each.

A third and final collection will be held on Oct. 14 with the same hours and at the Vo-Ag shop.

Looking for winter clothes and other items, foundation volunteers will be collecting men’s, women’s, and children’s clothes, coats, shoes, scarves, handbags, wallets, fashion accessories, ties, belts, backpacks and other items.

They will also accept household textiles such as bedding, blankets, comforters, sheets, towels, linens, tablecloths, curtains, pillows, and similar household goods.

The foundation receives money for the items and organizers are hoping to raise at least $500. The money will be used for scholarships and teacher mini-grants.
