Prairie View homecoming royalty receive crowns prior to Jayhawk-Linn gridiron clash

Journal staff report
Gabrianna Cullor and Noland Boyd were named 2026 Prairie View homecoming queen and king on Friday, Sept. 25, before kickoff between the Buffalo and Jayhawk-Linn football team.
The crowning and the homecoming dance following the game ended a week of homecoming activities at the school. That included painting storefront windows on Monday and a powderpuff football game and bonfire on Thursday.

The candidates for the queen and kings honors also included Harley Wade, Kennisyn Gochenour, Grace Cullor for queen, and Brody Wilcox, Carter Browning and Matthew Stolle for king.
Prairie View fans were treated to the first win of the season as the Buffalos managed to contain the Jayhawk offense with a 34-14 win. The halftime ceremony included honoring the 1970 state champion Buffalo football team.
