MOUND CITY – Linn County Economic Development Director Chasity Ware gave updates to the Linn County Commissioners on economic development on Monday, March 24.  She told the commissioners that the Summer Youth Employment grant information and applications are on the Linn County website under the Economic Development Department.

Ware also told the commissioners that she had met with Kelli Orender, the director of Kansas Tourism, learning what the state agency could offer. She said she planned to get more information about Linn County on the Kansas Tourism website.

Ware said she also met with Miami County Economic Development Director Janet McRae and gained a lot of information that she can put to use in Linn County.

Commissioner Alison Hamilton asked Ware if she would update the commission on the website. Ware said she needed legal advice before moving forward with the website. After the legal executive session, Ware sought approval of the commissioners to put a request for proposal (RFP) out for the website.

The commissioners approved the RFP for developing a county website being put in the newspaper for two weeks. The RFP will be due by April 23 and in the commissioners’ hands by April 28.
