4-H Style Revue and talent show kick off 2026 Linn County Fair

***Nearly 40 members of Linn County 4-H clubs participated in the annual 4-H Style Revue and Performing Arts Show on Saturday, July 25. The show kicked off the 2026 Linn County Fair.***

MOUND CITY – The 4-H portion of the Linn County Fair got under way Saturday, July 25, at the First Baptist Church of Mound City with the 4-H Style Revue and Performing Arts Show.

The performing arts show was scheduled first and included varied acts such the performance of a Biblical verse from the Book of Mark (complete with leaf blower), singing soloists, a guitarist, an instrumental ensemble, the Busy Worker choir singing a patriotic medley, the heartfelt signing of a song and an impassioned delivery of a soliloquy from Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

The style revue portion of the evening began with the clothing construction show with 11 entrees from the beginner through senior classes.

Frannie Eastwood, 4-H agent for the Marais des Cygnes Extention Service’s Mound City office, commented during the awards presentation that the number of sewing entries were up this year.

Two junior division winners in the revue were Paisley, left, who won best of class and best of show in the sewing construction event, and Harper, who won best of class and best of show in the buymanship event. Although she is wearing a purchased outfit in the photo, Harper and Paisley sewed outfits for the revue.

Next came the buymanship show, first with two boys, one modeling a suit and the other an informal party outfit, and then with 21 girls showing everything from casual wear to prom gowns.

Announcers for the style revue included Cierra Lindsey, Cheyenne Moss, Adeline Randall and Chloe Riley.

Performing arts participants (click on image for full-size photo) included Beginners Claire and sisters Caroline and Elizabeth; Juniors Haley, Sutton, and ensemble of Etta and Madelyn (with assist by band teacher Jeffery Russell), and Sawyer; Intermediate Jordyn Burns and the Busy Workers Club chorus; and Seniors Cheyanne Moss and Christian Raphael-Martin.

Clothing construction (most of the outfits were sewn by the contestants) included Beginners Summer and Abigail; Juniors Paisley, Sutton, Sawyer, Bristol and Harper; Intermediate Patience Parks: and Seniors Charlee Parks, Samantha Hensley, and Randi Hensley.

Buymanship competition (contestants put together purchased clothing items to complete an outfit) included Boys Intermediate Kruze McKee and Senior Nathan Baird; Girls Beginners Summer and Lauren; Juniors Edda, Dani, Blayze, Emylee, Sutton, Bristol, Sawyer and Harper; Intermediates Adryn Randall, Gentry Stevens, and Patience Parks; and Seniors Cheyanne Moss, Adeline Randall, Chloe Riley Samantha Hensley, Randi Hensley, Makenna Parks, Charlee Parks, and Miley Parks.
