Ambulance, fire calls for the week ending Jan. 31

MOUND CITY – The Linn County Commissioners received reports from the ambulance and fire department services on Monday, February. 2.


Fire Chief Randy Hegwald was not present so the fire report for the past week was read. There were 12 total calls for the past week which brings the yearly total up to 46 calls. Two building fires, two wildfires, three emergency medical assists, four vehicle crashes, one mutual aid canceled en route.


The commissioners reviewed the American Medical Response (AMR) report for Jan. 26 through Jan 31  from  operations manager Dawn Brooks, who was unable to attend the meeting.  The report showed there had been a total of 134 calls resulting in 71 transports.                                                                                                                                                                  The average response time was 18 minutes 20 seconds. The calls by city were:

• Blue Mound, 16 calls, 6 transports

• Centerville, 4 calls, 1 transport

• Fulton, 0 calls, 0 transports

• Greeley, 0 calls, 0 transports

• La Cygne, 26 calls, 16 transports 

• Fontana, 0 calls, 0 transports

• Lane, 0 calls, 0 transports

` • Linn Valley, 15 calls, 8 transports

• Mapleton, 0 calls, 0 transports

• Rich Hill, 0 calls, 0 transports

• Mound City, 31 calls, 18 transports

• Parker, 10 calls, 3 transports

• Pleasanton 25 calls, 16 transports

• Prescott, 5 calls, 3 transports


Response numbers and times for this time period by Commission Districts are:

District 1 - 41 responses, 24 transports, 15 minutes 37 seconds average response time

District 2 – 39 responses, 24 transports, 17 minutes 18 seconds average response time 

District 3 – 54 responses, 23 transports, 21 minutes 12 seconds average response time
