MOUND CITY – The Linn County Commissioners received reports from the ambulance, fire and emergency management services on Monday, May 18.
The weekly fire report was reviewed by the commissioners. There were four medical assists, two motor vehicle accidents, one unauthorized burn, one vehicle fire, one smoke investigation, one grass fire, and one outside rubbish fire. The were 11 total calls for the past week which brings the yearly total up to 275 calls for the year.
Linda Simons, interim emergency management coordinator reported that on Wednesday, May 20, there will be “Lunch and Learn” presentation at the Pleasanton Senior Center. Simons said the presentation on staying safe at home. This will include just things that seniors have to deal with as they get older and ways to help them stay in their homes. She said that the East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging (ECKAAA) was working with emergency management and the program would soon be taken to other senior centers in Linn County.
Simons said they would also be monitoring the weather due to the National Weather Service predicting possible severe weather later in the week.
The American Medical Response (AMR) report showed that from May 1 through May 17there had been a total of 119 calls resulting in 38 transports. The average response time is 13 minutes 52 seconds. The calls by city were:

• Mound City, 15 calls, 6 transports
• Parker, 4 calls, 1 transport
• Pleasanton 39 calls, 11 transports
• Prescott, 7 calls, 2 transports
