Delores Irene White, 92, of Osawatomie, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at West Chester Village in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.

Delores was born on May 18, 1932, in Osawatomie, Kansas, to Luellen and Nettie (Russell) McKinney. She was the second of eight children and grew up in Osawatomie, where she graduated with the Osawatomie High School Class of 1950. After high school, Delores briefly worked in a Kansas City factory before meeting the love of her life.

On September 12, 1953, Delores married Raymond Milton White in Paola, Kansas. Together, they raised seven children: Cathy, Robert, Rayla, Wesley, Darryl, Margaret, and Bill. The couple made their home on a hundred-acre farm north of the Parker High School corner, after moving there from a farm near Fontana in 1957. Delores devoted herself to her family, first as a homemaker and later as a cook and bus driver for the Prairie View School District once her children were old enough.

Throughout her life, Delores was an active member of the Nazarene Church and a strong, loving presence in the lives of all who knew her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose kindness and devotion to family will be cherished by all.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her daughter Margaret Noel, great-granddaughter Alexandria Hoke, her parents, and siblings Betty Lou Oram, Pat Monroe, Richard McKinney, Leroy McKinney, and Twilla McKinney.

She is survived by her children: Robert (Pam) White of Kansas City, KS; Wesley (Marsha) White of Abilene, KS; Darryl (Janet) White of Parker, KS; Bill (Kennett) White of Bucyrus, KS; Cathy (Gary) Hoke of Garnett, KS; Rayla (Mick) Atwell of Parker, KS; and son-in-law Vernon Noel of Cadmus. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Delores will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, faith, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
