Edwin Marvin Marshall

November 8, 1957 — November 8, 2025

Edwin Marvin Marshall, 68, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, his birthday, surrounded by love. Born on November 8, 1957, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Marvin and Carolyn Marshall, Ed grew up with a deep appreciation for family, laughter, and life’s simple joys, including spending time in Mound City with his grandmother, Seramae Marshall Post.

A devoted husband, father, brother, and son, Ed’s life was defined by kindness, good humor, and an ever-positive outlook. For many years, he served as Chief Engineer for the Embassy Suites Hotel in Deerfield Beach, Florida, where his professionalism and warmth made a lasting impression on colleagues and guests alike. Ed retired in May 2024, after which he and his beloved wife of 38 years, Cynthia, relocated to Ocala to enjoy a slower pace of life together.

Ed cherished his time with his four grandchildren, adored his puppies, and never missed cheering on his Kansas City Chiefs. To those who knew him, his devotion to his “beautiful bride” Cindy was an inspiration and a testament to enduring love.

Ed is survived by his father Marvin, wife Cynthia, sister Morgan, son Austin, and daughter Cayla. Funeral services in Mound City, Kansas, with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery in Blue Mound, Kansas, will be announced later. There will be a Celebration of Life in Fort Lauderdale this spring. Ed was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and son – he will be dearly missed.
