Fire, ambulance reports on March 16

MOUND CITY – The Linn County Commissioners received reports from the ambulance and fire department services on Monday, March 16.
Fire Chief Randy Hegwald reported that there were 16 total calls for the past week which brings the yearly total up to 141 calls. The calls were five wildland fires, three emergency medical services assists, one vehicle accident, two utility pole fires, one rubbish fire, one crash detection and thee mutual aid calls.
Hegwald said that they had been cleaning and found some old gear. He asked the commissioners if they wanted him to put it on surplus and try to sell it or whether he should cut it to destroy it. The commissioners said to go ahead and put it on surplus.
The commissioners reviewed the American Medical Response (AMR) report for March 1 through March 15 from operations manager Dawn Brooks who was unable to attend the meeting. The report showed there had been a total of 71 calls resulting in 37 transports. The average response time was 18 minutes 25 seconds. The calls by city were:

• Centerville, 2 calls, 1 transport
• Fulton, 0 calls, 0 transports
• Greeley, 0 calls, 0 transports
• La Cygne, 23 calls, 9 transports
• Fontana, 0 call, 0 transports
• Lane, 0 calls, 0 transports

• Mapleton, 0 calls, 0 transports
• Rich Hill, 0 calls, 0 transports
Mound City, 12 calls, 8 transports
• Parker, 2 calls, 0 transports
• Pleasanton 14 calls, 11 transports
• Prescott, 4 calls, 4 transports
