Rosanne Marie Smithhisler, age 74, of Osawatomie, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas.

Rosie was born on October 10, 1950, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. She was one of five children born to Harold and Betty Jean (Freeman) Dutcher. Growing up, Rosie’s family moved often, eventually settling in Parker, Kansas, where she attended high school.

In March of 1968, Rosie married Donald Ray Smithhisler. Together they raised four children: Michele, Bryan, Chad, and Derek. Though their marriage ended after 18 years, they shared a lasting bond through their family. Rosie later married Mike Badger.

Rosie lived in Johnson County for 15 years but spent much of her adult life in Osawatomie. Over the years, she worked at Safeway in Osawatomie, Food Barn in Olathe, and later drove a delivery route for Guy's Chips. Eventually, she found her passion in helping others by cleaning homes, a job she continued until her retirement.

Rosie had a vibrant personality and a zest for life. She enjoyed camping, bowling, and playing poker. A thoughtful and generous woman, she especially loved giving Christmas gifts and always went out of her way to bring joy to those around her. She was an avid collector who loved searching for antiques and treasures at garage sales. Rosie never left the house without being put together—her style and attention to detail were a signature part of who she was.

Above all, Rosie loved her family deeply. Her warmth, generosity, and spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Betty Jean Dutcher, and her brother, Mike Dutcher.

She is survived by her four children: Michele (Jason Towne) Minden of Osawatomie, KS, Bryan (Tore) Smithhisler of Spring Hill, KS, Chad (Rhonda) Smithhisler of Paola, KS, Derek (Mandy) Smithhisler of Olathe, KS, Ten grandchildren: Mallory Meiwes, Hannah Wiswell, Devon Smithhisler, Elana Smithhisler, Aysia Smithhisler, Ziahna Smithhisler, Aliah Smithhisler, Addison Smithhisler, Katlyn Smithhisler, and Danika Smithhisler. Twelve great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings: Steve Dutcher of Pembina, ND; Linda Troutman of Paola, KS; and Rick Dutcher of Enoch, UT.
