County fire, ambulance reports on June 23

MOUND CITY – The Linn County Commissioners received reports from the ambulance and fire department services on Monday, June 23.


Fire Chief Randy Hegwald reported that there were seven calls for the past week, which brings the yearly total up to 317 calls. There were five rescue and emergency medical service incidents, one hazardous condition (no fire), and one good intent call.


American Medical Response (AMR) operating manager, Dawn Brooks gave the weekly report.


The report showed the month to date ambulance reports from June 1 through June 22. There have been a total of 89 calls resulting in 45 transports. The average response time is 16 minutes 55 seconds. The calls by city were:

• Blue Mound, 5 calls, 2 transports

• Centerville, 5 calls, 1 transport

• Fulton, 0 calls, 0 transports

• Greeley, 2 calls, 1 transport

• La Cygne, 23 calls, 16 transports 

• Fontana, 0 calls, 0 transports

• Lane, 0 calls, 0 transports

• Linn Valley, 14 calls, 6 transports

• Rich Hill, 0 calls, 0 transports

• Mound City, 9 calls, 3 transports

• Parker, 9 calls, 3 transports

• Pleasanton 20 calls, 11 transports

• Prescott, 2 calls, 2 transports


Response numbers and times for this time period by commission districts are:


District 1 - 39 responses, 23 transports, 16 minutes 7 seconds average response time

District 2 – 23 responses, 14 transports, 9 minutes 37 seconds average response time 

District 3 – 27 responses, 8 transports, 20 minutes 52 seconds average response time
