Prescott man severely injured in motorcycle accident

PLEASANTON – A 72-year-old Prescott man suffered severe injuries and his passenger sustained minor scrapes in a motorcycle accident at the intersection of 1100 and Paine roads on July 18.


Dennis Barr was airlifted to the University of Kansas Medical Center after suffering severe injuries to the head, abdomen and extremities, according to the accident report filed by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. His passenger, 19-year-old Pleasanton resident Hayden Johnson, escaped with minor scrapes.


According to the report, Barr was driving a 2015 Indian motorcycle east on 1100 Road just before 3 p.m. when it hit a patch of gravel scattered on the paved road at the intersection of Paine Road. The motorcycle lost traction, laid down on its right side and both men were thrown into a ditch.
