October 27, 1962 — October 21, 2023 Centerville, Kansas
Wanda Mae Heady, 60, of Centerville, Kansas, died on Saturday, October 21, 2023, surrounded by her family. Wanda was born October 27, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Raymond Earl and Linda Mae (Bingham) Weller, Sr.
She grew up in Osawatomie. After graduating from Osawatomie High School in 1981, she attended Johnson County Community College, where she completed her Associate in Science in Information Technology. She was employed by JCC as a microcomputer technician. On June 1, 1981, she married the love of her life, Orlin Scott Heady, in Paola, Kansas.
Wanda was an outdoor girl through and through. She enjoyed flowers, the hummingbirds that swarmed her feeders, and fishing. She was happiest on the back of a boat with a line in the water. She was an artist with a camera and enjoyed photographing all types of wildlife. She even had numerous game cameras set up on the trails around their property. Many happy hours were spend mowing those trails for the grandkids to enjoy. Key West was her second home and she loved the ocean equally well as the land. Traveling was always an adventure, although she enjoyed the destinations, it was the journey along the way that she cherished.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Thomas Weller. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Orlin Heady; son, Wade Heady; daughter, Megan Mullins (Chris); brother, Raymond Weller, Jr. (Rebecca); sister, Brenda Weller; three grandchildren Emily, Tyson, and Boston Mullins; her two babies, Gunner, a Great Dane and Neapolitan Mastiff, and Ruby Rose, a German Shepherd and Husky.
